Our Story

Erin and Border Collie, Bert, enjoying a snowy Vermont day.

Owner and Trainer Erin King (She/Her) got started in the world of dog training at age ten with her first Border Collie, Finn. Together they competed in dog sports, performed in half-time shows, and moved across the country. Though no longer with us, Finn is a big part of this story, he was an excellent teacher and friend.

In 2015, after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Truman State University, Erin worked with the Purina Pro Plan Performance team putting on daily dog shows at Purina Farms and diving deeper into the dog sports world. In 2016, Erin moved to Vermont where she worked with pet dogs on a wide range of levels from basic obedience to more serious behavior modification.

2020 brought about another shift and a move to Florida to train service dogs for military veterans struggling with PTSD/TBI/MST. After three years in Florida it was time to head back to her home state of Missouri and launch Two Rivers Dog Training.

Now Erin can be found throughout the STL area helping dogs and owners live fuller, happier lives together. She lives on a micro homestead with her very supportive partner, Border Collie rescue and little black cat.
